Self-publishers’ workshops

In association with the Winchester Writers’ Conference CPI Antony Rowe runs two workshops a year at their Chippenham site. Please note each workshop is limited to 10 attendees only.
The purpose of the workshops is to introduce and inform authors who wish to self-publish about the requirements and costs of the publishing process and to help authors develop a manuscript that will meet the requirements of the marketplace.
Subjects covered include:
- Identifying your readership and preparing your manuscript
- Making your book reader-friendly
- Designing and printing your book
- Marketing considerations
The workshops are presented by Mrs Barbara Large, a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Winchester and the Founder Director of the Winchester Writers’ Conference (celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year) and Geoff Fisher, Sales Manager at CPI UK. Geoff has spent many years in publishing and printing and will discuss design and production considerations as well as leading the factory tour.
The courses are scheduled for Friday 7th May 2010 and Friday 17th September 2010 and full details may be obtained from either Barbara Large at Barbara.Large@winchester.ac.uk or Geoff Fisher at gfisher@cpi-group.co.uk
